A month or so ago I woke up in the middle of the night. God had laid on my heart 5 names of Christian women that I knew personally. All of them suffering with depression and FIbromyalgia. God clearly told me that they all had experienced abusive marriages and this was the route to their illness.
These women and lots of others don’t expect when they get married to have to suffer from verbal or physical abuse from the man they fell in love with. These unforeseen circumstances produce negative emotions that unless dealt with at the time get buried by our protective mindset. Self worth and self-esteem become damaged so much so that in years ahead will be triggered unconsciously with damaging repercussions to health, well being and relationships with others.
Often prayer for physical healing alone is unfruitful. It’s the eradication of years of negative emotions that need addressing layer by layer.
Taking accountability is the beginning of the healing process.
The Bible tells us its Jesus that sets us free. (John 8 vs 36)
In John 10 vs 10 Jesus says that it is he that gives us life, life to the full. This abundant life and freedom isn’t just a reference to our spirituality, it’s a life free from illness, disease, mental anguish and everything else that robs us of the joy of our relationship with the Lord. How interesting to read in the beginning of this verse that it is the thief that steals and destroys. Satan will do his utmost to steal from you. What does he steal? The truth.
What is the truth? Jesus said I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
