It’s so wonderful when the Holy Spirit reveals truths and insights to our heart isn’t it. Often others have already discovered these truths but when it’s imparted to us it’s at a deep personal level to encourage and bless us.
Way before God told me to create Christian Emotional Healing I had an inner desire for reading books on Healing. Authors like Smith Wigglesworth are still a favorite and I find myself reading his book on Healing for a third time.
In one chapter he refers to Mathew 8 vs 2 where a leper is saying to Jesus if you are willing you can make me clean.
“In bible times leprosy was in curable. It is a loathsome condition in which limbs rot and fall off. When a man had leprosy he was doomed for life. Like Cancer it was the devil manifest in the flesh…. For deliverance you must have someone mightier than Satan. Here is a fact: in our midst is One greater than Satan. If you believe it, it will make all the difference to you ”
I do believe in the One greater than Satan. What did he say to this leper in reply ” I am willing” Jesus hasn’t changed, he is the same as yesterday, and will be the same Jesus tomorrow and for the future. He is still willing to heal our sicknesses.
Why is it that in third world countries we are reading about a huge revival in healings and exorcism throughout the churches and yet in the western world it is a completely different picture. My belief is that we are so bombarded with intelligent teaching, reasonings, arguments and denominational ethics that our faith becomes diluted. Maybe with some of us the answer is we simply are not willing to believe it.
Recently The Lord encouraged me to desire a childlike faith in going forward with my new venture. The type of faith that’s innocent, unwavering, fully expectant, undiluted by intellect reasoning and arguments, bold, daring, trusting.
This was the type of faith that a certain woman had, who after spending everything she had in trying to get well struggled through a huge crowd to touch Jesus’s outer cloak hem to receive her reward.
Lord I pray that by your Holy Spirit our churches will awaken to an insight of child like faith. That teaching will be empowered by your Holy Spirit and not by reasoning or intellect. That healing and deliverance will gain recognition as a vital ministry to release, heal and restore captive hearts, minds and physical bodies. Amen
